Addiction treatment, support and prevention centres provide the following services for people with risky consumption, harmful use or dependence on psychoactive substances, and for their families and friends:
1° Reception, information, medical, psychological and social assessment and guidance for the person or those around them;
Within this framework, they may set up local consultations to ensure early detection of harmful use.
2° Reducing the risks associated with the use of psychoactive substances;
3° Medical, psychological, social and educational care. This includes diagnosis, care, access to social rights and help with integration or reintegration.
The centres provide withdrawal and support, and prescribe and monitor drug treatments, including opiate substitution therapy.
They can also treat people with non-substance addictions.
