Article D412-11 of the French Intellectual Property Code

The national plant variety authority is, for France, the service responsible for the protection of plant varieties within the meaning of the stipulations of article 30(1)(ii) of the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants. To this end, the person in charge of missions falling within the remit of the national plant variety authority liaises with the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants, in whose work he participates.

L’instance nationale des obtentions végétales est, pour la France, le service chargé de la protection des obtentions végétales au sens des stipulations du ii du 1 de l’article 30 de la convention internationale pour la protection des obtentions végétales. A cet effet, le responsable des missions relevant de l’instance nationale des obtentions végétales assure les liaisons avec l’Union internationale pour la protection des obtentions végétales aux travaux de laquelle il participe.
