Notwithstanding the provisions of articles D. 4364-7 to D. 4364-10, the following may practise the professions of orthoprosthetist, chiropodist, ocularist, epithesist or orthopaedic orthotist:
1° Practising professionals who, prior to publication of the orders provided for in Article D. 4364-7, hold diplomas, qualifications, certificates or attestations defined by order of the Minister for Health ;
2° Among practising professionals who satisfy neither the conditions of articles D. 4364-7 to D. 4364-10 nor 1° of this article, provided that their professional competence is recognised by the Prefect after obtaining the opinion of a national commission, composed in particular of professionals, competent for the professions mentioned in 1° to 5° of article D. 4364-1:
-those who have started practising as orthoprosthetists, chiropodists, ocularists, epithesists or orthopaedic orthotists since the end of the approval procedure;
-applicators who have been practising for at least five continuous years, on the date of publication of Decree no. 2007-245 of 23 February 2007 relating to the professions of prosthetist and orthotist for the fitting of disabled people and amending the Public Health Code, in one or more health establishments or with one or more orthoprosthetists, chiropodists, ocularists, epithesists or orthopaedic orthotists.
The national commission referred to in this article is attached to the prefect of a region designated by order of the Minister for Health.
