The professions of orthoprosthetist, chiropodist, ocularist, epithesist and orthopaedic-orthotist may be practised by holders of a French State diploma entitling them to practise each of these professions, issued by the regional prefect.
Orders issued by the Minister for Health set out the following for each of these State diplomas:
1° The conditions of access to training ;
2° The training curriculum: duration of studies, teaching methods, content of theoretical and practical courses and clinical placements;
3° The certification standards, including the procedures for continuous assessment and validation of skills with a view to obtaining the State diploma;
4° The conditions for approval of the establishments, services, structures and institutions where students carry out their clinical placements;
5° The conditions for the pedagogical operation of the training structures and the procedures for monitoring them;
6° The procedures for awarding the State diploma: examination procedures, composition of the jury.
