Article D44-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

In the event of a change of assignment of a judicial police officer within the jurisdiction of another court of appeal, including in the event of temporary secondment pursuant to the second paragraph of Article 18, the authorities mentioned in a to c of Article R. 14 or the head of the department to which the judicial police officer reports inform the public prosecutor of the previous place of employment and the public prosecutor of the new place of employment.

The Public Prosecutor of the previous place of employment then forwards the individual file to the Public Prosecutor of the new place of employment.

The authorities mentioned in the first paragraph shall also inform the public prosecutor of the judicial police officer’s place of employment of any permanent or permanent interruption of judicial police duties.

Article D44-1

En cas de changement d’affectation d’un officier de police judiciaire dans le ressort d’une autre cour d’appel, y compris en cas de mise à disposition temporaire en application du deuxième alinéa de l’article 18, les autorités mentionnées aux a à c de l’article R. 14 ou le chef du service dont relève l’officier de police judiciaire en informent le procureur général du précédent lieu d’affectation et le procureur général du nouveau lieu d’affectation.

Le procureur général du précédent lieu d’affectation transmet alors le dossier individuel au procureur général du nouveau lieu d’affectation.

Les autorités mentionnées au premier alinéa informent également le procureur général du lieu d’affectation de l’officier de police judiciaire de toute interruption durable ou définitive des fonctions de police judiciaire.
