For the application of article 696-119, when the Deputy European Public Prosecutor orders that the person under investigation be placed under judicial supervision, he/she shall inform the person that he/she may immediately contest this decision before the liberty and custody judge. If the person or his lawyer declares that they are contesting this order, the file on the proceedings must be sent to the liberty and custody judge without delay, and within twenty-four hours at the latest.
The order of the liberty and custody judge may be appealed by the Deputy European Public Prosecutor under the conditions provided for in Article 185, and by the person under investigation under the conditions provided for in Article 186.
In the absence of an immediate challenge before the liberty and custody judge, the person under investigation may appeal against the order of the Deputy European Public Prosecutor under the conditions set out in article 186.
