Article D514-8 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

The amount of the loans, where they are secured by platinum, gold or silver goods, may not exceed four-fifths of their estimated value by weight. For other goods, this amount may not exceed two thirds of their estimated value.

Le montant des prêts, lorsqu’ils sont garantis par des biens en platine, en or ou en argent, ne peut excéder les quatre cinquièmes de cette valeur, estimée selon leur poids. Pour les autres biens, ce montant ne peut excéder les deux tiers de la valeur de leur estimation.
