I. – When not on day services, a doctor from the medical team mentioned in article D. 6124-33 is responsible for medical duty in the paediatric intensive care unit or the paediatric resuscitation unit and the contiguous multi-purpose paediatric intensive care unit;
Outside day services, medical duty may be shared by paediatric intensive care units and neonatal intensive care units if these are located in the immediate vicinity of each other and when the level of activity allows. In this case, a doctor from the team of the other speciality is placed on operational call.
II. – The medical permanence of the paediatric intensive care unit in 3° is ensured outside of daytime services, by :
1° The presence on site of at least one doctor with training or experience in critical care or neonatal intensive care ;
2° An on-call doctor who is a member of the medical team of the multi-purpose paediatric intensive care unit.
