Article D6124-33-5 of the French Public Health Code

The non-medical team of a paediatric intensive care unit, whether multi-purpose or specialised, of mention 1, 2 or 3 of article R. 6123-34-2 comprises at least :

1° One state-registered nurse for every four open beds. The team includes at least one state-qualified nursery nurse for every four state-qualified nurses;

2° One nursing auxiliary or one childcare auxiliary:

a) for four open beds for categories 1 and 2 ;

b) for four beds open during the day and for eight beds open at night, for option 3;

3° A physiotherapist with proven experience in paediatric critical care;

4° Where necessary, a psychologist, speech therapist, psychomotor therapist and social worker.

The staff mentioned in 1° and 2° are placed under the responsibility of a health executive.

L’équipe non médicale d’une unité de soins intensifs pédiatrique, polyvalente ou de spécialité, de mention 1, 2 ou 3 de l’article R. 6123-34-2 comprend au moins :

1° Un infirmier diplômé d’Etat pour quatre lits ouverts. L’équipe comprend au moins un infirmier diplômé d’Etat de puériculture sur quatre infirmiers diplômés d’Etat ;

2° Un aide-soignant ou un auxiliaire de puériculture :

a) pour quatre lits ouverts pour les mentions 1 et 2 ;

b) pour quatre lits ouverts de jour et pour huit lits ouverts de nuit, pour la mention 3 ;

3° Un masseur-kinésithérapeute justifiant d’une expérience attestée en soins critiques pédiatriques ;

4° En tant que de besoin, un psychologue, orthophoniste, un psychomotricien et un assistant social.

Les personnels mentionnés aux 1° et 2° sont placés sous la responsabilité d’un cadre de santé.
