Article D6124-435 of the French Public Health Code

The rooms have a minimum volume of 30 cubic metres and a surface area of 10 square metres for each group of beds and cots. Except in exceptional cases determined by the establishment’s doctor, children are placed in bed close to their mothers.

No room may have more than four beds and four cots. The distance between two groups of beds and cots must not be less than 0.80 metres.

Le volume des chambres est au minimum de 30 mètres cubes et la superficie de 10 mètres carrés pour chaque groupe de lit et berceau. Les enfants sont couchés, sauf cas exceptionnel déterminé par le médecin de l’établissement, près de leurs mères.

Aucune chambre ne peut comporter plus de quatre lits et quatre berceaux. L’écart entre deux groupes de lits et berceaux ne doit pas être inférieur à 0,80 mètre.
