Article D6124-52 of the French Public Health Code

The neonatology unit comprises :

1° A room where parents can be welcomed ;

2° An area for monitoring and caring for children, where newborn babies are hospitalised; this area also includes a zone for medical preparation before transfer;

3° A special area for feeding newborn babies; this area may be shared with the obstetrics unit and, if necessary, the neonatal intensive care unit.

L’unité de néonatologie comporte :

2° Un secteur de surveillance et de soins des enfants où les nouveau-nés sont hospitalisés ; ce secteur comprend en outre une zone de préparation médicale avant transfert ;

3° Un secteur spécialement affecté à l’alimentation des nouveau-nés ; ce secteur peut être commun à l’unité d’obstétrique et, éventuellement, à l’unité de réanimation néonatale.
