Article D6124-53 of the French Public Health Code

An order by the Minister for Health determines the medical equipment available in the monitoring and care sector and the examinations that can be carried out on newborn babies.

The pre-transfer medical preparation area enables newborn babies to be prepared for transport to an appropriate specialist unit, if their condition so requires. The specific equipment in this area includes at least one neonatal respirator.

Un arrêté du ministre chargé de la santé détermine les dispositifs médicaux dont est doté le secteur de surveillance et de soins ainsi que les examens pouvant être réalisés pour les nouveau-nés.

La zone de préparation médicale avant transfert permet, si l’état du nouveau-né l’exige, de le préparer pour un transport vers une unité spécialisée appropriée. Le matériel spécifique de cette zone comprend au moins un respirateur néonatal.
