The purpose of the continuous post-intervention monitoring referred to in 3° of article D. 6124-91 is to monitor the residual effects of anaesthetic drugs and their elimination and to deal, taking into account the patient’s state of health, with any complications linked to the operation or anaesthesia.
This monitoring begins in the operating theatre, as soon as the operation and anaesthetic have been completed.
It does not stop while the patient is being transferred.
It continues until the patient’s respiratory autonomy, circulatory balance and neurological recovery are restored and maintained.
