Article D6431-6 of the French Public Health Code

If a member ceases to hold office before the normal expiry of his term of office, he shall be replaced within one month in the same manner. In this case, the duties of the new member shall end on the date on which those of the member he has replaced would have ended.

Si un membre cesse ses fonctions avant l’expiration normale de son mandat, il est pourvu, dans le délai d’un mois, à son remplacement dans les mêmes formes. En ce cas, les fonctions du nouveau membre prennent fin à la date à laquelle auraient cessé celles du membre qu’il a remplacé.
