When a victim is about to lodge a complaint online, he or she must be informed, by information appearing legibly on the site’s home screens:
1° That lodging a complaint online is only an option and that he or she retains the option of going to the police station or gendarmerie brigade of his or her choice to lodge a complaint, in accordance with the provisions of article 15-3;
2° That the filing of an online complaint does not prevent the complainant from asking to be heard by the investigators at a later date;
3° That in any event, the online complaint does not exempt the investigators from hearing the complainant if they consider that this is justified by the nature or seriousness of the facts.
Other than in cases in which the nature or seriousness of the facts makes it necessary to interview the victim at a later date, officers or agents of the judicial police must conduct such an interview in the case of an online complaint relating to offences of sexual assault or sexual offences provided for by articles 222-22 to 222-31-2 and 227-25 to 227-27-3 of the criminal code.
