Article D820-1 of the French Commercial code

A person or entity qualifies as a public interest entity pursuant to 6° of III of article L. 820-1 when, at the end of two consecutive financial years, its consolidated or combined balance sheet total exceeds 5 billion euros. It loses this qualification if it has not exceeded the threshold for two consecutive financial years.

Une personne ou une entité est qualifiée d’entité d’intérêt public en application du 6° du III de l’article L. 820-1 lorsque à la clôture de deux exercices consécutifs, le total de son bilan consolidé ou combiné est supérieur à 5 milliards d’euros. Elle perd cette qualification dès lors qu’elle n’a pas dépassé le seuil fixé pendant deux exercices consécutifs.
