Article L127-8 of the French Insurance Code

The legal expenses insurance contract stipulates that any sum obtained in reimbursement of the costs and fees incurred in settling the dispute shall be paid first to the insured person for the expenses remaining at his expense and, secondarily, to the insurer, up to the limit of the sums it has incurred.

Le contrat d’assurance de protection juridique stipule que toute somme obtenue en remboursement des frais et des honoraires exposés pour le règlement du litige bénéficie par priorité à l’assuré pour les dépenses restées à sa charge et, subsidiairement, à l’assureur, dans la limite des sommes qu’il a engagées.
