I. – The insurance companies mentioned in 1° of article L. 310-1 of the present code as well as the provident institutions and unions governed by Title III of Book IX of the Social Security Code inform each other, at least once a year, under the conditions set out in II of the present article, of the possible death of the insured.
II – The professional bodies referred to in article L. 132-9-2 consult each year, in compliance with law no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 relating to information technology, files and civil liberties, the data contained in the national register for the identification of natural persons and relating to the death of persons registered therein. The insurance undertakings and provident institutions and unions mentioned in I obtain this data from these professional bodies for the purpose of processing personal data. The purpose of this processing is to find deceased policyholders, subscribers and beneficiaries of life insurance contracts and capitalisation bonds or contracts, with the exception of bearer contracts.
