Article L133-2 of the French Civil Aviation Code

The Minister responsible for civil aviation may inspect any aircraft at a French aerodrome to ensure that it complies with the applicable safety and security standards, whether French, Community or adopted in application of the Convention on International Civil Aviation, signed in Chicago on 7 December 1944.

Le ministre chargé de l’aviation civile peut soumettre à des inspections tout aéronef se trouvant sur un aérodrome français pour s’assurer de sa conformité avec les normes de sécurité et de sûreté qui lui sont applicables, qu’elles soient françaises, communautaires ou prises en application de la convention relative à l’aviation civile internationale, signée à Chicago le 7 décembre 1944.
