Article L1333-4 of the French Public Health Code

In application of the principle of justification, certain nuclear activities as well as certain processes, devices or substances exposing persons to ionising radiation may be regulated or prohibited by regulation due to the limited benefits they provide or the extent of their harmful effect.

Prohibitions or regulations adopted in application of the previous paragraph may be revised in the light of new and significant information enabling the justification for the activities, processes, devices or substances concerned to be reassessed.

En application du principe de justification, certaines des activités nucléaires ainsi que certains procédés, dispositifs ou substances exposant des personnes à des rayonnements ionisants peuvent être, en raison du peu d’avantages qu’ils procurent ou de l’importance de leur effet nocif, réglementés ou interdits par voie réglementaire.

Les interdictions ou réglementations prises en application de l’alinéa précédent peuvent être révisées compte tenu d’éléments nouveaux et significatifs permettant de réévaluer la justification des activités, procédés, dispositifs ou substances concernés.
