Article L134-14 of the French Commercial code

The contract may contain a non-competition clause after termination of the contract.

This clause must be drawn up in writing and relate to the geographical area and, where applicable, the group of persons entrusted to the commercial agent as well as the type of goods or services for which he or she acts as a representative under the terms of the contract.

The non-competition clause is only valid for a maximum period of two years after termination of a contract.

Le contrat peut contenir une clause de non-concurrence après la cessation du contrat.

Cette clause doit être établie par écrit et concerner le secteur géographique et, le cas échéant, le groupe de personnes confiés à l’agent commercial ainsi que le type de biens ou de services pour lesquels il exerce la représentation aux termes du contrat.

La clause de non-concurrence n’est valable que pour une période maximale de deux ans après la cessation d’un contrat.
