Article L142-10 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

The branches of the Banque de France participate in the performance of the bank’s tasks. They contribute to the maintenance of banknotes and coins and the execution of cashless payments. They help to understand the local economic fabric and disseminate monetary and financial information. They manage and monitor cases of overindebtedness under the conditions set out in article L. 141-7.

In order to carry out their duties, they maintain relations with banks, businesses, consular bodies, local authorities and decentralised government departments within their sphere of action.

Article L142-10

Les succursales de la Banque de France participent à l’exercice des missions de la banque. Elles concourent à l’entretien de la monnaie fiduciaire et à l’exécution des paiements scripturaux. Elles contribuent à la connaissance du tissu économique local et à la diffusion des informations monétaires et financières. Elles assurent la gestion et le suivi des dossiers de surendettement dans les conditions prévues à l’article L. 141-7.

Elles entretiennent des relations, pour exercer leurs missions, avec les banques, les entreprises, les organismes consulaires, les collectivités locales et les services déconcentrés de l’Etat de leur rayon d’action.
