Article L1424-23 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The national commission provided for in article L1424-22 is chaired by the Minister of the Interior or his representative. It comprises:

– three representatives of the State;

– three chairmen of departmental councils;

– three mayors or chairmen of public establishments for inter-communal cooperation;

– three firefighters.

This commission is chaired by the minister responsible for overseas departments or his representative, when the commune or public establishment for inter-communal cooperation or the department is located overseas.

Article L1424-23

La commission nationale prévue à l’article L1424-22 est présidée par le ministre de l’intérieur ou son représentant. Elle comprend :

– trois représentants de l’Etat ;

– trois présidents de conseil départemental ;

– trois maires ou présidents d’établissement public de coopération intercommunale ;

– trois sapeurs-pompiers.

Cette commission est présidée par le ministre chargé des départements d’outre-mer ou son représentant, lorsque la commune ou l’établissement public de coopération intercommunale ou le département est situé outre-mer.
