Article L145-8 of the French Insurance Code

Without prejudice to article L. 113-15-2, the policyholder and the insurance undertaking may terminate the contract annually by notifying the other party at least two months before the expiry date. This notification must be made by registered letter or, if termination is requested by the policyholder, by registered letter or electronic registered mail.

Sans préjudice de l’article L. 113-15-2, le souscripteur et l’entreprise d’assurance peuvent résilier le contrat tous les ans par notification à l’autre partie au moins deux mois avant la date d’échéance. Cette notification doit être faite par lettre recommandée ou, dans le cas où la résiliation est demandée par le souscripteur, par lettre recommandée ou envoi recommandé électronique.
