Article L174-2 of the French Insurance Code

The insurer does not cover loss or damage if the boat undertakes the trip in a condition that makes it unseaworthy or insufficiently armed or equipped.

Similarly, it does not cover loss or damage resulting from normal wear and tear or obsolescence of the boat.

L’assureur ne garantit pas les pertes et les dommages lorsque le bateau entreprend le voyage dans un état le rendant impropre à la navigation ou insuffisamment armé ou équipé.

De même, il ne garantit pas les pertes et dommages consécutifs à l’usure normale du bateau ou à sa vétusté.
