Article L211-6 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

The securities account is maintained by the issuer when required by law or when the issuer so decides. In other cases, it is maintained by the issuer or by an intermediary referred to in Article L. 211-3, at the option of the owner of the securities.

A decree of the Conseil d’Etat shall specify the conditions of application of this article.

Article L211-6

Le compte-titres est tenu par l’émetteur lorsque la loi l’exige ou lorsque l’émetteur le décide. Dans les autres cas, il est tenu au choix du propriétaire des titres par l’émetteur ou par un intermédiaire mentionné à l’article L. 211-3.

Un décret en Conseil d’Etat précise les conditions d’application du présent article.
