The municipal council may set up consultative committees on any issue of municipal interest concerning all or part of the territory of the municipality. These committees include persons who may not belong to the council, in particular representatives of local associations.
On a proposal from the mayor, it determines their composition for a period that may not exceed the current municipal term of office.
Each committee is chaired by a member of the municipal council, appointed by the mayor.
The committees may be consulted by the mayor on any issue or project concerning local public services and facilities and falling within the area of activity of the associations that are members of the committee. They may also submit to the mayor any proposal concerning any issue of communal interest for which they have been set up.
