If the woman is an unemancipated minor, the consent of one of the holders of parental authority or, where applicable, the legal representative is obtained. This consent is attached to the request that she submits to the doctor or midwife in the absence of any other person.
If the unemancipated minor woman wishes to maintain confidentiality, the doctor or midwife must endeavour, in her interest, to obtain her consent for the holder(s) of parental authority or, where applicable, the legal representative to be consulted or must check that this has been done during the interview referred to in article L. 2212-4.
If the minor does not wish to take this step or if consent is not obtained, the voluntary interruption of pregnancy and the medical procedures and care associated with it may be carried out at the request of the person concerned, presented under the conditions set out in the first paragraph. In this case, the minor is accompanied by the adult of her choice.
After the operation, minors must be offered a second consultation, the purpose of which is to provide further information on contraception.
