Article L222-7 of the French Sports Code

The activity of bringing together, for remuneration, the parties interested in concluding a contract either relating to the exercise of a sporting or training activity for remuneration, or which provides for the conclusion of an employment contract having as its object the exercise of a sporting or training activity for remuneration, may only be exercised by a natural person holding a sports agent’s licence.

The licence is issued, suspended and withdrawn, depending on the discipline concerned, by the relevant delegating federation. The federation monitors the activities of sports agents on an annual basis.

Each competent delegated federation publishes the list of sports agents authorised to operate in its discipline as well as the sanctions imposed in application of article L. 222-19 on agents, licence holders and affiliated associations and companies.
