Providing a woman with the material means to terminate her own pregnancy is punishable by three years’ imprisonment and a fine of €45,000. These penalties are increased to five years’ imprisonment and a fine of 75,000 euros if the offence is committed on a regular basis. Under no circumstances may the woman be considered an accomplice to this act.
Prescribing or dispensing authorised medication with the aim of inducing a voluntary interruption of pregnancy cannot be treated as an offence.
