Article L2242-1 of the French Labour Code

In companies where one or more trade union sections of representative organisations have been set up, the employer shall initiate negotiations at least once every four years:

1° Negotiations on remuneration, in particular actual salaries, working hours and the sharing of added value within the company;

2° Negotiations on professional equality between women and men, including measures to eliminate pay differentials and the quality of life and working conditions.

Dans les entreprises où sont constituées une ou plusieurs sections syndicales d’organisations représentatives, l’employeur engage au moins une fois tous les quatre ans :

1° Une négociation sur la rémunération, notamment les salaires effectifs, le temps de travail et le partage de la valeur ajoutée dans l’entreprise ;

2° Une négociation sur l’égalité professionnelle entre les femmes et les hommes, portant notamment sur les mesures visant à supprimer les écarts de rémunération, et la qualité de vie et des conditions de travail.
