Article L232-12-1 of the French Sports Code

The biological samples mentioned in the first paragraph of article L. 232-12 may be taken for the purpose of establishing the profile of relevant parameters in the urine or blood of an athlete for the purpose of revealing the use of a substance or method prohibited under article L. 232-9.

The information gathered in this way may be processed by the French Anti-Doping Agency in accordance with the provisions of Law no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 relating to information, files and freedoms, under conditions set by decree in the Conseil d’Etat.

Article L232-12-1

Les prélèvements biologiques mentionnés au premier alinéa de l’article L. 232-12 peuvent avoir pour objet d’établir le profil des paramètres pertinents dans l’urine ou le sang d’un sportif aux fins de mettre en évidence l’usage d’une substance ou d’une méthode interdite en vertu de l’article L. 232-9.

Les renseignements ainsi recueillis peuvent faire l’objet, dans des conditions fixées par décret en Conseil d’Etat, d’un traitement informatisé par l’Agence française de lutte contre le dopage dans le respect des dispositions de la loi n° 78-17 du 6 janvier 1978 relative à l’information, aux fichiers et aux libertés.
