Article L300-1 of the French Insurance Code

I. – For the purposes of this Book :

a) The words “France” and “territory of the French Republic” mean mainland France and the territorial collectivities governed by Article 73 of the Constitution as well as Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin ;

b) The words “French companies” refer to companies which have their registered office in mainland France or in the aforementioned territorial collectivities.

Except for the provisions concerning the freedom to provide services and the freedom of establishment, these words also refer to Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.

II. – Notwithstanding I, for the application of the provisions of 1° of Article L. 310-2, Article L. 310-6 and Article L. 310-10, the words “in France” mean mainland France, the territorial collectivities governed by Article 73 of the Constitution Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon and the Wallis and Futuna Islands.

Article L300-1

I. – Pour l’application du présent livre :

a) Les mots : ” France ” et les mots : ” territoire de la République française ” désignent la France métropolitaine et les collectivités territoriales régies par l’article 73 de la Constitution ainsi que Saint-Barthélemy et Saint-Martin ;

b) Les mots : ” entreprises françaises ” désignent les entreprises qui ont leur siège social en France métropolitaine ou dans les collectivités territoriales susmentionnées.

Sauf pour les dispositions qui concernent la libre prestation de services et la liberté d’établissement, ces mots désignent également Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.

II. – Par dérogation au I, pour l’application des dispositions du 1° de l’article L. 310-2, de l’article L. 310-6 et de l’article L. 310-10, les mots : ” en France ” désignent la France métropolitaine, les collectivités territoriales régies par l’article 73 de la Constitution Saint-Barthélemy et Saint-Martin, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon ainsi que les îles Wallis et Futuna.
