I.- The fight against tuberculosis and leprosy is the responsibility of the State.
To this end, the Director General of the Regional Health Agency authorises one or more tuberculosis centres and, if necessary, a leprosy centre, depending on the needs identified. Departments may be accredited as a tuberculosis centre and a leprosy centre for the purposes of their tuberculosis and leprosy control activities.
II – The tuberculosis centres and leprosy centres contribute to the prevention, screening and treatment of tuberculosis and leprosy respectively, by providing information, prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment. They contribute to the co-ordination of care, monitoring and referral of patients.
III. -Expenditure relating to the centres authorised in application of I is fully covered by the regional intervention fund, without application of the provisions of the Social Security Code and the Rural and Maritime Fishing Code relating to entitlement to benefits covered by the basic schemes, reimbursement of the portion guaranteed by the health insurance scheme, the insured person’s contribution to the tariffs used as a basis for reimbursement and the lump sum referred to inarticle L. 174-4 of the Social Security Code.
