Article L312-1-5 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

Customers who are natural persons and not acting for professional purposes are informed free of charge, by means of their monthly account statement, of the amount and name of any bank charges relating to irregularities and incidents that the institution intends to debit from their deposit account. This debit is made at least fourteen days after the date on which the account statement is closed.

The conditions for application of this article shall be laid down by decree in the Conseil d’Etat. The system introduced by this article shall come into force eighteen months after publication of the decree referred to in the first sentence.

Le client, personne physique n’agissant pas pour des besoins professionnels, est informé gratuitement, par le biais de son relevé de compte mensuel, du montant et de la dénomination des frais bancaires liés à des irrégularités et incidents que l’établissement entend débiter sur son compte de dépôt. Ce débit a lieu au minimum quatorze jours après la date d’arrêté du relevé de compte.

Les conditions d’application du présent article sont fixées par décret en Conseil d’Etat. Le dispositif mis en place par le présent article entre en vigueur dix-huit mois après la publication du décret mentionné à la première phrase.
