Article L312-70 of the French Consumer Code

Where a payment card issued by a credit institution is associated either with a deposit account and a revolving credit facility, or with a payment account and a revolving credit facility, the use of the credit facility results from the consumer’s express agreement expressed at the time of payment with the card or within a reasonable period of time, on receipt of the updated statement of performance of the credit agreement provided for in Article L. 312-71.

Lorsqu’une carte de paiement émise par un établissement de crédit est associée soit à un compte de dépôt et à un crédit renouvelable, soit à un compte de paiement et à un crédit renouvelable, l’utilisation du crédit résulte de l’accord exprès du consommateur exprimé lors du paiement avec la carte ou dans un délai raisonnable, à réception de l’état actualisé de l’exécution du contrat de crédit prévu à l’article L. 312-71.
