Article L312-72 of the French Consumer Code

In the event of a revision of the borrowing rate, the lender shall provide this information in advance to the borrower on paper or any other durable medium before the effective date of application of the new rate.

The borrower shall have a period of thirty days after receipt of this information to refuse this revision by written request to the lender.

In this case, the borrower’s right to credit is terminated and repayment of the credit already used is made in instalments, unless the borrower advises otherwise, on the terms applicable before the change that the borrower refused.

Article L312-72

En cas de révision du taux débiteur, le prêteur fournit cette information préalablement à l’emprunteur sur support papier ou tout autre support durable avant la date effective d’application du nouveau taux.

L’emprunteur dispose d’un délai de trente jours après réception de cette information, pour refuser cette révision sur demande écrite adressée au prêteur.

Dans ce cas, son droit à crédit prend fin et le remboursement du crédit déjà utilisé s’effectue de manière échelonnée, sauf avis contraire de sa part, aux conditions applicables avant la modification que celui-ci a refusée.
