Article L312-81 of the French Consumer Code

If the borrower fails to return the document referred to in article L. 312-80, signed and dated, no later than twenty days before the due date of the agreement, the creditor shall suspend the borrower’s right to use the credit on that date.

The suspension may only be lifted at the request of the borrower and after verification of the borrower’s solvency under the conditions set out in article L. 312-16.

A défaut pour l’emprunteur de retourner le document mentionné à l’article L. 312-80, signé et daté, au plus tard vingt jours avant la date d’échéance du contrat, le prêteur suspend à cette date le droit d’utilisation du crédit par l’emprunteur.


La suspension ne peut être levée qu’à la demande de l’emprunteur et après vérification de la solvabilité de ce dernier dans les conditions fixées à l’article L. 312-16.
