Article L3121-11 of the French Labour Code

A company or establishment agreement or, failing that, a branch agreement may introduce standby duty. This agreement sets out how standby duty is to be organised, how the employees concerned are to be informed and how much notice they are to give, as well as the financial compensation or time off to which they are entitled.

Une convention ou un accord d’entreprise ou d’établissement ou, à défaut, une convention ou un accord de branche peut mettre en place les astreintes. Cette convention ou cet accord fixe le mode d’organisation des astreintes, les modalités d’information et les délais de prévenance des salariés concernés ainsi que la compensation sous forme financière ou sous forme de repos à laquelle elles donnent lieu.
