Article L313-5 of the French Consumer Code

It is forbidden in all advertising and commercial communication to:

1° Equate monthly repayments with rent or refer, for the calculation of instalments, to social benefits that are not provided throughout the term of the contract;

2° Include any wording likely to give rise to false expectations on the part of the consumer regarding the availability or cost of credit.

Il est interdit dans toute communication publicitaire et commerciale :


1° D’assimiler les mensualités de remboursement à des loyers ou faisant référence, pour le calcul des échéances, à des prestations sociales qui ne sont pas assurées pendant toute la durée du contrat ;


2° De faire figurer toute formulation susceptible de faire naître chez le consommateur de fausses attentes concernant la disponibilité ou le coût d’un crédit.
