Article L313-61 of the French Consumer Code

No compensation or costs other than those mentioned in article L. 313-60 may not be charged to the lessee. However, in the event of default by the lessee, the lessor may claim reimbursement from the lessee, subject to justification, of the taxable costs incurred by the lessee as a result of such default, to the exclusion of any flat-rate reimbursement of collection costs.

Article L313-61

Aucune indemnité ni aucun coût autres que ceux qui sont mentionnés à l’article L. 313-60 ne peuvent être mis à la charge du preneur. Toutefois, le bailleur peut réclamer au preneur, en cas de défaillance de celui-ci, le remboursement sur justification des frais taxables qui lui ont été occasionnés par cette défaillance, à l’exclusion de tout remboursement forfaitaire de frais de recouvrement.
