Where an agreement has been reached between trade unions and employers’ organisations in a given profession or geographical area on the conditions under which employees are to be given their weekly rest period, the Prefect may, by order, at the request of the trade unions concerned, order the closure to the public of establishments in the profession or geographical area concerned for the duration of the rest period. These provisions do not apply to activities with automated operating and payment procedures.
At the request of the trade unions representing the employees or the organisations representing the employers in the geographical area concerned, expressing the will of the majority of the members of the profession in that geographical area, the Prefect shall repeal the order referred to in the first paragraph, without this repeal taking effect before a period of three months.
