Article L3142-97 of the French Labour Code

Any employee aged between sixteen and twenty-five who takes part in the call to prepare for defence is entitled to an exceptional one-day leave of absence.

The sole purpose of this exceptional leave is to enable the employee to take part in the call to prepare for defence. There is no reduction in pay. It is treated as a period of actual work for the purpose of determining the length of annual leave.

Tout salarié âgé de seize à vingt-cinq ans, qui participe à l’appel de préparation à la défense, bénéficie d’une autorisation d’absence exceptionnelle d’un jour.

Cette absence exceptionnelle a pour but exclusif de permettre au salarié de participer à l’appel de préparation à la défense. Elle n’entraîne pas de réduction de rémunération. Elle est assimilée à une période de travail effectif pour la détermination de la durée de congé annuel.
