Article L315-16 of the French Consumer Code

The borrower may always, on his or her own initiative, terminate the loan contract granted to him or her by repaying all the sums already paid in principal and interest.
If the borrower has opted for a lump sum payment of the capital, he or she may, on his or her own initiative, repay part of the sums paid. However, the lender may refuse a partial repayment of less than an amount set by decree by the Conseil d’Etat.

L’emprunteur peut toujours, à son initiative, mettre un terme au contrat de prêt qui lui a été consenti en remboursant la totalité des sommes déjà versées en principal et intérêts.
Si l’emprunteur a opté pour un versement du capital en une seule fois, il peut, à son initiative, rembourser une partie des sommes versées. Toutefois, le prêteur peut refuser un remboursement partiel inférieur à un montant fixé par décret en Conseil d’Etat.
