Article L3232-9 of the French Public Health Code

The provision of drinks containing added sugar or artificial sweeteners, free of charge or for a fixed price, is prohibited in all catering establishments open to the public, schools and establishments intended for the reception, training and accommodation of minors.

An order of the ministers responsible for health, agriculture and consumer affairs sets out the list of categories of beverages referred to in the first paragraph.

La mise à disposition, en accès libre, sous forme d’offre à volonté gratuite ou pour un prix forfaitaire, de boissons avec ajout de sucres ou d’édulcorants de synthèse est interdite dans tous les lieux de restauration ouverts au public, les établissements scolaires et les établissements destinés à l’accueil, à la formation et à l’hébergement des mineurs.

Un arrêté des ministres chargés de la santé, de l’agriculture et de la consommation fixe la liste des catégories de boissons mentionnées au premier alinéa.
