The public prosecutor may order a person who has used drugs illegally or habitually and excessively consumed alcohol to submit to a therapeutic injunction in the form of treatment or medical supervision under the conditions set out in articles L. 3413-1 to L. 3413-4.
The duration of the measure is six months, renewable three times under the same conditions.
Public proceedings shall not be instituted against persons who comply with the therapeutic injunction ordered and follow it through to completion.
Likewise, public prosecution shall not be brought against persons who have made illicit use of narcotics when it is established that, since the acts of which they are accused, they have undergone appropriate treatment or medical supervision under the conditions set out in Chapters II and IV of Title I of this Book.
