Roads classified in the public road domain of the Lyon urban community and in the public road domain of the Rhône department located on the territory of the Lyon metropolis, as well as their outbuildings and accessories, are transferred in full ownership to the Lyon metropolis on the day of its creation. The same applies to road infrastructures located on its territory that are being built by the Lyon urban community and the Rhône department on the date of this transfer.
These transfers are carried out free of charge and do not give rise to the payment of the contribution provided for in article 879 of the General Tax Code nor the collection of taxes, duties or levies of any kind whatsoever.
They entail the transfer to Metropolitan Lyon of the corresponding easements, rights and obligations, as well as the classification of the transferred roads as part of the metropolitan road system. Any status of the transferred roads as express roads or trunk roads is retained.
The land acquired by the Lyon urban community and the Rhône department with a view to developing the transferred roads is transferred to the Lyon metropolis.
The transfer automatically entails the updating of the town planning documents affected by the transfer.
The chairman of the Lyon urban community council and the chairman of the Rhône departmental council shall provide the representative of the State in the region and the chairman of the Lyon metropolitan authority council with all the information they have on their public road domain.
