Article L367-5 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

If a foreign national who has not been admitted to enter the French Southern and Antarctic Lands has not been able to disembark in a foreign territory under the conditions provided for in Article L. 367-4, the on-board authorities are responsible for handing him/her over to the border control authorities at the next stopover in France.

Si l’étranger qui n’a pas été admis à entrer dans les Terres australes et antarctiques françaises n’a pu être débarqué sur un territoire étranger dans les conditions prévues à l’article L. 367-4, les autorités du bord sont chargées de le remettre aux autorités chargées du contrôle des personnes à la frontière à la prochaine escale française.
