The sentence enforcement judge will send the attending physician, via the coordinating physician, a copy of the decision ordering the treatment order. The judge will also send the attending physician, at the latter’s request or on his own initiative, via the coordinating physician, a copy of the reports of the medical examinations carried out during the enquiry or investigation, the final indictment, the decision to refer the case to the trial court, the sentencing decision as well as the reports of the examinations that he has ordered during the execution of the sentence. The judge may also send the attending physician any other relevant documents in the file.
Without being bound by the provisions of article 226-13 of the French Penal Code, the practitioners responsible for providing care in prisons communicate the medical information they hold on the convicted offender to the coordinating doctor so that he can pass it on to the attending doctor.
The attending physician issues treatment monitoring certificates at regular intervals, to enable the convicted offender to justify to the sentence enforcement judge that he has complied with his treatment order.
