Article L4221-11 of the French Public Health Code

The Minister for Health may authorise to practise pharmacy in France, after obtaining the opinion of a commission composed in particular of health professionals, persons who have worked for three years on a contract basis in accordance with the first paragraph of article L. 4221-10 as well as those who do not fulfil this condition but who have both passed the tests mentioned in the second paragraph of the same article and worked in hospitals for six years.

Practitioners authorised to practise pharmacy under the provisions of this article may be entered on a special list of suitable candidates for the post of practitioner in public health establishments. The conditions for inclusion on this list of suitable candidates are laid down by regulation.

Contractual assistant practitioners must apply for authorisation to practice before 31 December 2010.

Article L4221-11

Le ministre chargé de la santé peut autoriser à exercer la pharmacie en France, après avis d’une commission, composée notamment de professionnels de santé, les personnes ayant exercé pendant trois années les fonctions de contractuel prévues au premier alinéa de l’article L. 4221-10 ainsi que celles ne remplissant pas cette condition de durée de fonctions mais ayant à la fois satisfait aux épreuves mentionnées au deuxième alinéa du même article et exercé des fonctions hospitalières pendant six années.

Les praticiens autorisés à exercer la pharmacie au titre des dispositions du présent article peuvent être inscrits sur une liste spéciale d’aptitude à la fonction de praticien des établissements publics de santé. Les conditions d’inscription sur cette liste d’aptitude sont fixées par voie réglementaire.

Les praticiens adjoints contractuels doivent demander l’autorisation d’exercice avant le 31 décembre 2010.
